I know, I know, it's been almost a MONTH!

In my last post...almost a MONTH ago...I mentioned that Elizabeth Ann's has a second home.

It is in a shop called ELIZABETH'S!  The owner's name is Elizabeth and there is another Elizabeth with a booth...LOVE it!  Elizabeth's is located at 4208 Dolly Ridge Road, Cahaba Heights, AL.
Cahaba Heights, which is located behind the Summit, is a neighborhood of Vestavia Hills, with some cute shops and restaurants.  Right next door to Elizabeth's is a fruit market, they have some beautiful mums and pumpkins right now.  There's a great nursery/plant store called Leaf n Petal.  When I passed it Thursday they were getting in mums, what looked like boxwood topiaries and other beauties.  Also the Lamb's Ear is a must see and if you like Mediterranean food you have to try The Olive Branch...YUMMY!
If you go tell Jennifer, my beautiful niece,  Aunt Elizabeth sent you!

I'm moved in but still learning what will fit and how much will fit, plus I have to get some more light in there.
Because Elizabeth's is located in an old house this space is a little awkward so it will tax my creativity, but that's what makes this so much FUN!  It is also very difficult to photograph.  I can't get a full view of the booth all at once.

The longest wall has wires and pipes on it in several places so I decided to cover it with a drop cloth.

Boy do I need to add more to that shelf!

I can still hang stuff on the walls I just have to be very CAREFUL where I'm putting the nails!

You know I can't have an empty jar!

I have lots more goodies to add now that I know more will fit than I thought, woo hoo!
Tomorrow I'll post pictures of Elizabeth Ann's new home in Consigning Interiors and Antiques.

YEAH....AUCTION TONIGHT!!!!!

Elizabeth Ann

A New Home and A Second Home!

I've MOVED!

Luckily I didn't need one of these!

Only one of these!

Elizabeth Ann's has moved to a little bit larger booth in a better location inside Consigning Interiors.

As soon as you enter the store my new booth is straight back !

I've been working HARD trying to get it set up and arranged.  I've still got some tweaking to do but I promise pictures soon!

AND

I will also have a SECOND home soon!

Elizabeth's is located in Cahaba Heights
4209 Dolly Ridge Rd., Vestavia, AL (205)977-3355
Elizabeth Ann's will have a second home at
Elizabeth's Consignments.

Very appropriate don't you think?

I move in October 1st, hopefully sooner.  That same day all the vendors will be having a tent sale so it should be busy.

I'm extremely excited about both but all this work has been kicking my buttocks (hear this the way Forrest Gump said it)
But I'm loving every minute of it!

I think I might actually be staying home tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to give our home some much needed TLC.
I'm anxious to get some fall decorations up.

Thanks for reading it really means a lot to me and a special thank you to those that have signed up to be followers. You have no idea how excited I get when I see I have a new follower.

Joyfully,
Elizabeth Ann

A Perfect Match

I love no LOVE thrift stores, auctions (a new addiction), estate sales, basically any place I can buy second hand.  I've even been known to do some trash picking!  I enjoy seeing what I can get for a bargain but I really like to try to figure out different ways of using something.  You know using it in a way different from its
original purpose

I bought this chair at an auction.  It had a seat but a really ugly cover...easy to fix.

I bought this clock face at a thrift store a few days later. It has a MDF back which is about an inch thick so it is strong. I had intended on using it as a base for a large cloche but it just didn't work.
"Oh well I'll come up with something else for it."

See where I'm going......

YOU GUESSED IT !!!!

I think it is a perfect match.

I sprayed the clock with several coats of a clear matte poly then glued it down with Gorilla Super Glue.  I also put some brackets underneath for a little added security.

I'm joining Tales from Bloggerittaville  for Thrifty Thursdays, Faded Charm for White WednesdayThe Shabby Chic Cottage  for Transformation Thursdays, A Little Knick Knack for Everything But the Kitchen Sink Link Party and Miss Mustard Seed for Furniture Friday.   Be sure to visit all these sites for some great ideas. While you're there look around you won't be sorry.  Just leave a comment and let these ladies know you were there.

FALL IS IN THE AIR !

The evenings and mornings around here have had a hint of fall lately!  We can actually walk outside before 10 AM and not get hit with sweltering heat.  Even though it's still getting into the 90's during the day the humidity is lower so it just feels so much better.
So...I'm in the mood to decorate for fall.
(If the pictures weren't taken by me all the photo credits will be at the end of this post)
Since I'm trying to lighten up my home's decor and because I'm using a lot of white I started looking for inspiration on how to keep the white but still add a hint of fall.

I decided to take a cue from my nieces wedding that was in October of 2008.  I did all the floral arrangements and decorating.  She wanted white but fall colors also, I wasn't so sure.  However, the more I played with the colors the more I realized it could be done and be beautiful.  I did have to convince her to let me use pumpkins and gourds, but she trusted me and she liked it all.
Here are some pictures:

I used the couple's last name monogram in several places

I did several of these little arrangements, one for each guest table at the reception.

I really loved all the white pumpkins,
which I found at Wal-Mart of all places.
I also liked the softness of the color of this Cinderella pumpkin.
The growers call it Fawn.
I even liked the colors of this little striped gourd.

Did some web browsing for even more inspiration:

I like the simplicity of just a single pumpkin, a wreath and an urn.  It could be done with just a pretty flower pot if you didn't have an urn.  I think I'll try this out but on a smaller scale.

Ahhh....White!
(I think I have enough ironstone to get this look ha..ha!)

The use of the silver pieces with these pumpkins is nice.
I've done this before and I'll do it again this year.

I like the idea of using something different as a "wreath" on the front door.  Right now I have a large "B" on our door.  I think I'll add a bit of fallness to it.

I'm not really into decorating for Halloween but I thought these were so cute I might have to change my mind.  Both of these pictures are from the October issue of Country Living magazine. The ghost in the mirror is frosted contact paper.

Ok I'm off to see if I can do something with all this INSPIRATION!
I just hope I can find some pumpkins, I'm not sure they are out in the stores yet.  I will post pictures of what I come up with, but give me a few days!

Joyfully,
Elizabeth Ann

Mini Vacation/Buying Trip Finds

As promised here's some of the woderful goodies I picked up while Mr. EA and I were on our trip.  Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did buying them.  If you live close to Pelham, AL or just driving through stop by and take a look!  I'm there on Mondays and Fridays working for Consigning Interiors and Antiques.  I'm also there many other days fluffing my booth.  I would love to meet you so please say hello if you see me.
This HUGE enamel tray would look awesome corralling all your necessities on the coffee table.

This is a handmade table, don't you love the glass knobs?
I decided to take a chance on these two antique golf bags.  The one in the cabinet is a Stove Pipe bag and is made of canvas and leather.  It even has several old golf balls in the pocket! The other is all canvas with a webbing type shoulder strap.  The piece of wood you see is part of the bag.
I love this old Tip Top bread crate.  It is HUGE!  I did some research and the Tip Top bread company was based in Australia.  But here's what I found really interesting, inside the box there is a stamp that says the box was made by a company in Birmingham, AlabamaI also love the grain sack material.  I found six yards of it cut into 1 1/2 yard pieces.  Below is a picture of it rolled out.  This picture is full of great STUFF!  Check out the piano rolls under the cloche.  Have you seen the current Restoration Hardware catalog? Take a look at page 30 & 31.  You can get all five of the piano rolls, the cloche with a base for less than what the cloche alone would cost from RH! Oh don't forget about the tole tray, I got that at an auction.
Don't miss the antique camera!
There are two of these fabulous windows!  They are out of a very old Shot Gun house in Mobile, AL.

This antique desk is in the mission style and is made of tiger oak.  Just so you know, I did NOT put the rollers on the desk.  But because of them I was able to get the desk at a great price so that means you can get it at a great price.  It is still a beautiful piece of furniture.

Wow! Can you believe I have two pieces of furniture in my booth that are not painted?

Ok the last of the pictures.

Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you around!

Joyfully,
Elizabeth Ann
